Skipping Stones
This was a hiking trip that I took with some friends. As we cast stones along the shore I found a piece of what I believe was ether charcoal or graphite. It had been pressed by many years but still fumbled beneath my fingers. Some of us used it to draw on the stones and then cast them. We sat here doing this for what felt like years; and it was right. As the sun began to go down we all found individual things to do. A friend and I collaborated on a hand together and then left a drawn rock holding the pressed natural pencil. As we were leaving the thought crossed my mind to take a photo of it, I almost didn’t. The water could come take it away with all this rain... but I’d like to believe someone else would be handed a pencil too.
